Sixty is a piece of cake

Love Everyone. John 4:4-29 At morning glow, Lyn charges us to pause and look into the face of Jesus, whether it is within our group or in those we encounter today.

 Our daily  prayer this week has been:

Lord, send me forth this day
to bring your Good News
to those poor who hunger for a world of hope;
to my neighbor, starving for a friendly gesture;
in my co-worker who longs to be accepted.

Send me out with eyes open wide
to see the loveliness of your creation,
the sight of your face in the face of the stranger;
the insight to know the right words and gestures
 to offer a hurting friend.

Send me peace and joy
that I might be an instrument
of your liberating love,
your joyful presence,
and your redeeming compassion.

Grant that I may bring your presence to a waiting world.
Amen

We are ending our work week. Today the entire swing set was rebuilt, 4 of the 12 legs of the fort were replaced and cemented. 8-10 bags of concrete were mixed. More bikes were repaired, one was exchanged, a spelling bee was held at Los Tambos for the younger kids from 5-6 schools and Los Tambos student, Elvis, won the title. Over 25 posters were created in support for the national spelling competition on Friday. The community party was held after school, and 300 sandwiches were distributed to the crowd. All of the children's clothing was distributed and the bucket of toothbrushes was descended upon. Craft activities were beaded necklaces ,face painting and cross decorations. Many mamas and papas brought their families for the excitement. The current high school students
dropped by and were recognized by Tere. The up coming high school kids were recognized.
The students treated us to several presentations, poetry, songs and a beautiful Indian dance complete with black and red costumes. Andy was chased by a dancing girl. All were presented very well. Its a reunion and goodbye time with old friends reconnecting, hugs and tears.

After a teardown and reload, we were back to the mission house, where two treats awaited us.
One of our current high school students, Osment, has been moved to start preaching. He came to our site and preached a sermon. He did a great job and we are really proud.

Our other treat was birthday cake ! Stan Pozega decided to have a birthday while we were in Belize, and we were blessed!

Tomorrow, we finish up lots of loose ends. This is a sweaty, stinky, LOVING mission team! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we fill our hearts just a bit more.

  1. What a wonderful week serving God. So many blessings poured out upon each of you and the people in the village. I can't wait to hear all about your adventure. Praying for a safe journey home. ( Mom, you did it! ) Jackie
